TEXAS

 Well now we are in Texas. This morning I thought I would have an easy day on the trip. I should never think that. I thought going through El Paso would be like going through Eugene but it was much busier than that. At least I started the day with a nice shower and took a little walk around a pretty big block. It was still cool and pleasant. I started driving about 12:00 and had not gone very far before I started into El Paso. The traffic was heavier than I though but I just kept telling myself I would be through town soon. The city was larger than I though but I made it safely. I was to meet up with Paul in a town called Habens but I missed the exit and had to go on about 6 more miles before I could turn around. There was a rest stop on the way so I pulled in there for a minute. When I got to Paul we had still not determined a place to camp so I told him about the rest area. We talked to a couple of boarder patrol people and they said it woulkd be a safe place and no one would kick us out so we are planning on camping here at the rest stop for tonight. We are very close to the boarder but hope that we will have no problems Our boarder patrol said they come through about every hour. We had bought a generator hoping it would allow us to run the air conditioner but it just isn't powerful enough. Right now it is 90 degrees in our little trailer, It is almost 5:30 so soon the temperature will start to drop we hope. Tomorrow night we plan on being in a KOA and will have full hookups so that will be nice for the weekend.
