De Funiak Springs
Today we traveled (at least Jean and I) on freeway and made good time on our drive. We arrived at our campsite about 10 minutes before Paul did. The day was very windy and looked like it would rain any minute. Fortunately it did not rain. The wind felt like it was buffeting us around a bit. After lunch we drove over to Ponce De Leon State Park. It is a fresh water spring that is always 68 degrees. The water was very clear and clean looking. It also seemed kind of cold to get into. Someone there told us about another spring just down the road that was supposed to be warmer and more gradual to enter the water. We drove there and I got in the water and Jean got in up to about her waist. Paul wimped out and held the baby. It was cool water to get into but it sure felt good when the weather is so hot. Then we went to Arby's for a sandwich for dinner and did a little shopping at Wal Mart. Tonight the weather is windy and there is a forcast for a possiblility of rain. There is more severe weather north of here but it is not expected to come this far South. We all just gradually making our way east and on to St Augustine which will complete the southern part of our trip.
