Devils Lake and wind
Today we left Minnesota and entered North Dakota. The morning was overcast and pretty warm but then the clouds cleared off and the wind really started to blow and this time it was against Paul and me. I could feel it in the truck and it was strong enough my truck actually shifted itself to fight the wind. I finally caught up to Paul and we had sandwiches in the trailer. The wind was blowing so hard that Paul was only able to go about 5 miles per hour. He still had 27 miles to go so they were rough on him. When I got to Devils Lake I discovered that the campground I thought I had arranged for was no longer in operation. When I called them back they said they were a different State Park and they had camping available but the road was closed to get there because of the winds. I guess it was blowing water over the road or something. With our obtions running out we decided to stay at the Super 8. I waited in the trailer in the heat about3 hours today for Paul to arrive so we could decide where to stay. Needless to say it feels really good to have showered and be all cleaned up. They are forcasting wind from the West again tomorrow but hopefully it will not be so strong. At least the humidity is supposed to be down.
